A German company plans to build a wind farm on an area of 445 decares in Dobrudja, Bulgaria, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Money.bg. The facilities will cover the lands of several villages in the municipality of General Toshevo, Dobrich region.

The construction of the wind power plant is assigned by the company WPD Wind 1, which is part of the German group WPD – a global leader in the development and operation of solar and wind energy parks on land. The project envisages the construction of up to 70 wind power facilities and their infrastructure, including foundations, access roads and crane areas.

According to the company’s investment proposal, the wind turbines will work at wind speed in the range from 3 to 25 m/s, with optimum power for electricity production at speeds of 12-14 m/s. The generators will have an innovative control system, allowing the optimization of the rotation speed as well as operation with low levels of noise.

WPD is present in 31 countries on 4 continents and has a portfolio that includes wind farms with a total power capacity of over 6670 MW.
