More than 70 employers took part in this year’s edition of “Career Days: Students Meet Business” at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Bulgaria. The two-day career forum took place on 8 and 9 October in the university’s central foyer, once again bringing together established companies from the construction sector and future architects, engineers, and surveyors. For another year running, Hydrolia, a company with a primary focus on the management of water supply and wastewater infrastructure assets for the private sector, was among the participants.

The company’s team welcomed interested students and spoke to them not only about current job vacancies but also about career prospects across the sector as a whole. “The career opportunities available to a water supply and wastewater engineer can be wide-ranging and diverse. Although we tend to regard design as the main part of the process, it is actually only the starting point. UACEG graduates can pursue careers in a number of other fields, including facility operation, the management of entire systems, efficient resource consumption, and more,” Eng. Dobromir Simidchiev, Managing Director of Hydrolia, told BalkanEngineer.com. “This is precisely what we want to show young people who may become our future colleagues. There are many opportunities, and new technologies are expanding them even further. That is why we are happy to speak with anyone interested in pursuing a career in the water sector,” he added.

Hydrolia provides a comprehensive range of services, including the analysis and assessment of water supply and wastewater infrastructure assets and processes, engineering services, and the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems. The company’s primary focus is industrial water management. In this context, its team developed the Hydrolia Mobile Modular Solution (Hydrolia MMS) — a mobile, modular, multi-technology treatment plant that enables on-site testing of different treatment process configurations under the actual operating conditions of an industrial facility.
