Over the last couple of years, the link between university education and actual industry has become an increasingly important topic, for businesses as well as the academic community. Companies are searching for young specialists that not only have a stable theoretical understanding but also have adequate practical skills, and students are aiming to acquire actual experience even before graduating. For this reason, the internship programs continuously establish themselves as an important link between universities and professional settings, and a good example of this is the internship program by Multivac Bulgaria Production. It gives an opportunity for students in engineering fields to work with actual projects and to participate in the every day work of design and production teams. The company is part of Multivac – one of the European leaders in the production of vacuum packaging solutions, labeling machines, control and inspection systems, as well as robotic packaging lines.

How do the first steps in professional engineering roles appear from the perspective of a student? To understand this, Engineer.bg has spoken with young specialists who had passed the internship program at Multivac Bulgaria Production.
The internship program by Multivac Bulgaria Production is paid, lasting 3 months and aimed towards young people, who want to apply their knowledge of machine building, mechatronics and other technical fields.
The interns work side by side with engineers from the company, participating in actual projects and becoming accustomed to the different stages of making industrial machines – from designing and 3D modelling to the production of the mechanical and electronical components. The program also includes a multinational element – a one-week training program in the Multivac HQ in Germany, where candidates can get accustomed to work at a global level.
"Our internship program is designed to create a real environment for learning and development. We do not expect ready-made experts, but motivated young people with a desire to develop, ask questions and take responsibility. Knowledge comes with time, but attitude and curiosity are what build young specialists," the company added.
