Astra-Finance buys chemical storage terminal in Varna, Bulgaria

The german provider of storage tanks for gas, chemicals and petroleum products Oіltаnkіng has announced that it has signed an agreement to sell its 91.1% stake in the liquids storage terminal in Varna, Bulgaria, Balkanengineer.com has learned from Money.bg.

 

 

The buyer, Astra-Finance Plc, is a subsidiary of the Pyrenean company Bylmapĸet Group, one of the 10 largest producers of biodiesel, refined and unrefined oils and free oils in Europe and one of the largest private transport companies in the Baltics.

 

The terminal, with a storage capacity of 25 860 cbm, is located on the Black Sea coast in Devnya, near Varna, Bulgaria, and provides storage and handling services for inorganic chemicals, biofuels and edible oils, being closely integrated into the supply chain of its customers.

 

As part of the transaction, Oіltаnkіng sold its 91. 1% stake in Oіltаnkіng Bulgaria AD to Astra-Finance AD. The remaining shares are owned by the City of Varna and are excluded from the cedar.

The transfer is subject to regulatory approval. Completion of the project is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
