German construction equipment manufacturer Wacker Neuson Group is strengthening its presence in Serbia with a significant expansion of its plant in Kragujevac, BalkanEnigneer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. The expansion, announced by Kragujevac plant CEO Michael Schmucker, includes the addition of a modern paint shop to the existing production facility and the construction of a new factory for the assembly of construction machinery.
The expansion project follows Wacker Neuson's initial €23 million investment in the Kragujevac factory, which opened last June. The plant currently employs 500 workers across two production facilities, and with plans to hire an additional 200 workers, the company aims to improve its production capacity and meet the growing demand for high-quality equipment.
Headquartered in Munich, Germany, Wacker Neuson is a global leader in light and compact equipment with a workforce of over 6,300 employees. The decision to expand in Serbia underlines the attractiveness of the country as a strategic location for multinational corporations looking to expand their operations.
