The Chinese Chamber of Commerce, which brings together over 300,000 Chinese companies, will open a representative office in Belgrade, BalkanEngineer.com learned from a publication on the Serbia-Business portal. The decision was confirmed by the chamber's president, Zheng Hongbin, during a meeting in Beijing with the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marko Čadež.

According to the information, the procedures for opening the office are already underway, and the new structure will play an important role in deepening economic ties between China and Serbia. Cadež emphasises that the presence of the Chinese chamber in Belgrade will expand opportunities for cooperation between Serbian and Chinese companies by facilitating bilateral investment and trade projects.
In his statement, he describes Serbia as a "smart crossroads" within China's Belt and Road Initiative, highlighting the country's role as a regional hub for innovation, high-tech companies, and start-ups.
During the talks, the two sides also discussed China's participation in the EXPO 2027 Belgrade international exhibition, as well as joint initiatives within the "Land and Sea" trade corridor.
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce is part of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and includes a wide range of state-owned and private companies. The organization supports over 800 local and industrial associations, as well as offices in various European countries, including Belgium, Italy, France, Poland, and Russia.
The opening of a representative office in Belgrade is expected to accelerate economic integration between Serbia and China and position the Serbian capital as a leading center for Chinese business interests in the region.
