Albanian company GreNNat Solar Park Ballsh has received permission from the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERA) to start generating electricity in the first phase of its 25 MW photovoltaic project. The entire project involves the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant, with full completion and commissioning expected by 2028, BalkanEngineer. EU has learned from monitor.al.
The company has divided the project into two phases: 25 MW Lot 1 and 75 MW Lot 2. The first phase is scheduled to become operational on October 20, 2024, once the necessary approvals for connection to the transmission and distribution grid have been obtained. The second phase with a capacity of 75 MW should be completed and commissioned by January 2028.
According to national records, GreNNat Solar Park Ballsh is owned by Info Telecom-Alb Solar 3. This project is part of Albania's efforts to increase renewable energy production and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
