During automation of small and medium industrial sites, there is a growing demand for solutions that combine reliable control of processes, clear visualization and long-distance maintenance, without the need of separate SCADA software. With this goal in mind, the production and engineering company Unisyst Engineering has developed the PLC200 industrial controller with integrated SCADA systems, which combines PLC functions, HMI, archiving, PID control, Modbus communications and serious diagnostics in a compact DIN-rail mountable device.

One of the biggest advantages of the PLC200, which separates itself from analogue solutions in the market, is the integrated SCADA interface. The panels can be accessed through standard browsers on various operation systems – Window, Linux, Android or iOS – locally and remotely.

"The user has access to graphical mimic diagrams, information screens, real-time process values, operating modes, alarms, and service panels. The interface includes control buttons, tables, images, line graphs, and other graphical elements that provide a comprehensive overview of the technological process without the need for a separate SCADA computer," Unisyst Engineering commented to BalkanEngineer.com.

The PLC200 uses a local database on a microSD card, a real-time clock (RTC), archives, trends and historical graphs. This allows for collection and analysis of technological parameters and monitoring events in real time.

The solution finds application in a wide range of industrial systems, including:

  • Pumping stations and water supply;
  • Boiler rooms and HVAC systems;
  • Photovoltaic and energy systems;
  • Remote small-scale sites.

The new PLC200 demonstrates how an industrial controller can go beyond traditional PLC functionality by integrating control, operator interface, data logging, and service diagnostics into a single compact device. The result is a comprehensive automation solution that combines reliability, compactness, and low expenses for installation and maintenance.
