From 1 October 2025, the Romanian airline AnimaWings will start scheduled direct flights between Bucharest and Sofia, which will be operated five times a week, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. This is what BalkanEngineer.com has learned from an announcement of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce.

Ticket prices will start from 74.99 euros one way, and include hand luggage up to 8 kg. Currently, only the Romanian national carrier TAROM operates the connection between the two capitals, but with this new service, passengers will have another option for a quick transfer between Bulgaria and Romania.
AnimaWings is a 100% Romanian low-cost airline, part of the Memento Travel Group. Its fleet includes Airbus A220-300 aircraft offering 137 seats, including 12 in business class. The seat layout provides more space, wider aisles and large windows, and each seat is equipped with USB and USB-C ports.
The company already operates scheduled and charter routes to destinations in Greece, Cyprus, France, Israel, Dubai, Spain and the Czech Republic, and with the new route to Sofia AnimaWings will expand its presence in the Balkans and facilitate connectivity between the two neighbouring capitals.
