Albania invests 7.9 million euro in a new power line and substation in the northern part of the country

Albanian electricity distribution system operator OSSH has launched two tenders with a total estimated value of 770 million lek (approximately 7.9 million euro) for the construction and extension of a 35 kV line and a new substation in the northern region of Malesia e Made. The aim is to improve the reliability of the power supply and provide a more stable infrastructure for businesses and tourist sites in the region, BalkanEngineer.com learned from publications in the country's official tender registers.

The first contract, worth 309.95 million leks excluding VAT, provides for the construction of a new overhead power line "Koplik 220 kV - Vukpala," which must be completed within 18 months. The second project, valued at 460 million leva, includes the continuation of the route from Vukpala to Tamare with an approximate length of 20 km, as well as the construction of a new 35/10 kV substation in Tamare with a transformer capacity of 7.5 MVA. It should be completed within 24 months of the start of construction.

 

According to the official documentation, bids for the two tenders will be accepted until September 1, 2025, with funding to be provided from the operator's own resources.
