At this year's edition of MachTech & InnoTech Expo, held from 6 to 9 October at Inter Expo Center in Sofia, Bulgarian trading, engineering and manufacturing company BETELGEUS presented the latest developments in its standardised robotic system, STACKBOT. The upgrades include software enhancements, expanded integration capabilities with industrial information systems and full compliance with the latest safety requirements for robotic applications.

BETELGEUS's participation in MachTech & InnoTech Expo 2026 highlighted one of the key areas of modern manufacturing: the automation of repetitive, monotonous and physically demanding tasks. During the exhibition, Mr Stanimir Staykov, Managing Director of BETELGEUS, outlined the philosophy behind STACKBOT and the company's engineering team's ongoing efforts to continuously improve the system. “We manufacture robots that make people's lives easier and help them feel happier by taking heavy work off their shoulders,” the Managing Director told BalkanEngineer.com.

One of the main focal points of the STACKBOT presentation at MachTech & InnoTech 2026 was safety. In this field, industrial robotics is evolving towards stricter requirements for design, risk assessment and the protection of people working in close proximity to automated systems. “We have been preparing for this moment for a year, and STACKBOT now meets absolutely all the requirements of this ISO standard,” stated the Managing Director of BETELGEUS. “The safety concept for modern robotic cells must be considered beyond the mere classification of a robot as collaborative. What matters most today is the actual mode of interaction between the human operator and the robotic system, including operating speed, risk assessment and the safety functions provided,” he added.
