Albania has announced a public tender worth approximately 8.5 million euros for the construction of a sewer network and a wastewater treatment plant in the coastal town of Jale, located on the Albanian Riviera. The investment involves the creation of new infrastructure for the collection, conveyance, and treatment of domestic wastewater in the tourist area. The estimated value of the contract amounts to 778.7 million Albanian lek without VAT, which is equivalent to approximately 8.49 million euros. The project involves the construction of a sewer network, three pumping stations, and a wastewater treatment plant designed to serve up to 8,387 residents. The new infrastructure will cover an area of approximately 64,000 m², with the individual facilities connected to a unified system for wastewater collection and treatment.

The estimated completion period is approximately 20 months. During this period, the selected contractor will be required to carry out the construction and installation work on the sewer network, the pumping stations, and the wastewater treatment plant. The procedure is open and falls under the category of public procurement contracts exceeding the high-value threshold under Albanian law.

The investment is aimed at an area where tourism-related construction and seasonal increases in visitors place additional strain on the local infrastructure. Yale is one of the popular coastal destinations in southern Albania, where the expansion of hotels and service facilities requires corresponding development of the sewer systems. The planned capacity of the wastewater treatment plant will enable it to serve both the local population and tourist facilities within the project’s scope.
