BA Glass Group invests around BGN 600 million in Bulgaria

The Portuguese manufacturer of glass packaging BA Glass Group will invest about BGN 600 million for the upgrade of its production in Bulgaria, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Capital.bg. The program’s goal is for the company to have a capacity almost twice as large at the end of the investment cycle in Bulgaria.

According to the CEO of the company – Sandra Santos, a second furnace is currently being built at the plant in Sofia, thanks to which around 110 job vacancies will be created. The company has already started recruiting and hiring employees, as some of the positions require long training. The furnace should be ready in 2022.

The facility in Sofia will be completely transformed just like the group’s other factory in Plovdiv, where BA Glass Group still has to refit one of the existing furnaces.

At the same time, BA Glass Group also plans to construct a large warehouse outside the sites of its production facilities in Bulgaria.
