The Romanian division of German auto parts supplier Continental has announced that it has invested 8 million euros ($8.7 million) in a new building at its business base in the northeastern city of Iași. This was learned by BalkanEngineer.com from SeeNews.com.
The building will house an automotive brake testing center, where about 150 engineers will work, the company said. The investment project was completed at the beginning of this year.
"The roof is completely covered with photovoltaic panels, which provide electricity for the charging stations for electric cars, as well as for the entire lighting system," says Marian Petrescu, director of Continental Yash.
The German auto parts supplier has been present in Romania since 1999. The company owns a tire distribution center in Bucharest, six production units and four engineering centers – in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carey, Nadab and Iași.
