ROCA Industry, one of Romania's main industrial building materials holdings owned by ROCA Investments, reported a turnover of 289.5 million lei (EUR 58.5 million) in its consolidated report for the first half of 2023. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from Romania-insider.com. The holding company registered a 5.7% increase in turnover compared to the same period of 2022.

In the first half of the year, the companies of ROCA Industry's portfolio gained significant market shares. Evolor, a paints and varnishes manufacturer recently relaunched and undergoing a period of operational transformation, posted a 21% increase in sales compared to the same period last year, while Electroplast, an electrical cable manufacturing company recently added to the holding company's portfolio, reported an 11% increase in sales volume in the first half of the year.

The holding company is expanding its export activities, with its companies entering new foreign markets in 2023 to sell building materials in countries such as the UK, Switzerland, Moldova, Israel and others. ROCA Industry's main goal for this year is to increase its capital and move from the AeRO market to the main market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The forecasts of some statistical organizations indicate a cyclical slowdown in the construction sector ROCA Industry specialists predict that the situation will continue in the third quarter under the impact of fiscal changes in the construction sector and indirectly the demand for construction materials. After this period, however, a sharp growth curve is expected in the next 3-5 years.
