In modern industrial systems, the lack of detailed information regarding the state of the electrical grid often leads to unexpected accidents, overheating of the equipment or reducing the quality of the production. Standard measurement instruments provide only basic details, which aren’t enough to identify complex technical problems such as harmonic imbalances or phase asymmetry. “Integrating smart devices to provide evidence of monitoring to engineering teams to have complete real-time power diagnostics. Siemens’ Sentron PAC4200 series achieves high measurement resolution, which is particularly important for the stability of automated production lines,” commented Filkab, which offers Siemens equipment.

The PAC4200 system functions as a high precision analyzer, which handles over 200 electrical parameters in three-phase networks. Unlike basic devices, this model offers accuracy class 0.2S for active energy, guaranteeing minimal deviations even during heavy loads. "In addition to standard measurements such as voltage, current and power, the PAC4200 performs detailed power quality analysis, allowing technical personnel to locate sources of interference in the network before they lead to a defect in electronic equipment," Filkab explained.

When working in an industrial environment, the device monitors deviations in the frequency and phase imbalance, recording the events in its own memory. This way operators can perform the next analysis of emergency situations, provided with accurate information regarding the state of the parameters immediately before the event occurs. Doing so reduces the time it takes for diagnostics and optimizes maintenance schedules. The integration of Siemens Sentron PAC4200 into industrial switchgear represents a long-term investment in the operational security of the facilities.
