Camfil can provide reliable filtration and higher efficiency at DB Schenker logistics center in Stockholm, Sweden

The logistical center for DB Schenker at Stockholm, a key hub for South and Central Europe, has encountered critical problems, caused by the high levels of dust which disrupt the sensors and lead to slowdown and additional expenses. The integration of the industrial purifiers CamCleaner 6000 and CamCleaner 30000 by Camfil, however, transform the quality of the air, improving reliability of the processes and significantly reducing operational costs.

“Dust buildup on optical elements leads to scanning errors, false alarms and machine downtime. This increases maintenance costs, leads to downtime and requires additional manual sorting labor. Previous purifiers used at the center failed to provide the required efficiency and did not prevent dust particle buildup,” explained Camfil.

To pick the most appropriate system for solving these challenges, DB Schenker has tasked an independent consultant to analyze the different industrial purifiers. After a thorough examination of the filtration effectiveness, energy consumption and the results from tests, CamCleaner 6000 and CamCleaner 30000 by Camfil were chosen. The CamCleaner 6000 model is installed in proximity of the scanners, protecting the sensors from fine dust particles. Thanks to efficient HEPA filters and an air flow rate of up to around 6,000 m³/h, the device provides clean air in the most vital areas.

"The larger CamCleaner 30000 model, with a capacity of up to approximately 18,000 m³/h, is installed at the front and back of the hall, where it captures larger particles and ensures uniform air purification throughout the room volume. This model works with 0 – 10 V control, which allows precise power adjustment, improves air mixing and stabilizes the temperature in the room," Camfil explained.
