According to experts at Wilo Group, one of the global leaders in water technology, water management, like many other sectors, is undergoing a fundamental transformation driven by artificial intelligence (AI). Against this backdrop, Wilo and Capgemini, a French IT services and consulting company, are deepening their collaboration. Their partnership will cover both Wilo’s internal manufacturing operations and the development of customer-focused solutions for more sustainable water management. In addition, Capgemini is joining Wilo’s international Global WATER AI Academy initiative. “The agreement was signed at Wilo Group’s headquarters in Dortmund, Germany, by Oliver Hermes, President and CEO of Wilo, and Henrik Ljungström, Managing Director of Capgemini in Germany,” Wilo told BalkanEngineer.com.

As part of their joint efforts, Wilo and Capgemini will establish a harmonised business process and data environment based on the SAP S/4HANA platform. Artificial intelligence will be at the core of these developments, with the aim of enabling smarter, data-driven process management across the company, as well as delivering services and solutions tailored to the needs of customers and end users. “The systematic use of AI is crucial to the competitiveness of industrial companies and economies. At Wilo, we do not view AI as an end in itself. Instead, we ask how it can optimize processes while unlocking people’s potential. This is how we are gradually becoming a leader in the industrial application of AI,” Oliver Hermes explained in connection with the planned activities.

This approach is aligned with the Group’s corporate and AI strategies, which are built around three key pillars: Embed, Enable and Embrace – integrating AI into processes, creating the conditions for its effective use, and actively embracing the opportunities offered by the technology. The partnership with Capgemini is specifically intended to accelerate the conversion of AI’s technological potential into measurable results.
