Digital transformation is now an irreplaceable part of the growth strategy of almost every production establishment. Even so, a lot of companies are still facing serious challenges when transforming successful pilot projects into sustainable solutions that encompass the entire organization. Overcoming these challenges is at the core of the new initiative by Schneider Electric, world leader in energy technologies and industrial automation, combining efforts with the World Economic Forum and leading production, technological and consultancy organizations. The partnership entails the development of the Lighthouse Operating System – a practical open-source framework that provides manufacturing companies with a structured and proven approach to scaling digital transformation and achieving operational excellence.

"Most manufacturing enterprises have already invested in digitalization. However, the real challenge lies in taking these initiatives beyond individual production lines or plants and transforming them into a sustainable development model for the entire organization," commented Schneider Electric.
It is a necessity that Lighthouse addresses. The initiative is built on more than eight years of experience and knowledge, accumulated thanks to the Global Lighthouse Network – a global community of the most innovative of production establishments, created out of the World Economic Forum. The new framework is developed by the organization's Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains, in collaboration with established Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), industrial companies and consultancy organizations. "Instead of enterprises starting the transformation process from scratch or relying entirely on external experts, the model offers proven methodologies that can be easily adapted to various manufacturing environments," added Schneider Electric.
