Engineering education continues to be key for a sustainable future, and young people, who choose to undertake the technical sciences and innovations, are those that will build tomorrow. For this reason, when a global company like ABB supports young engineers in the beginning of their professional career, it is not only a gesture of corporate responsibility, but an investment of the highest level. ABB Bulgaria is proud to announce the new graduates of the ABB foundation “Jürgen Dormann” for 2025 – young talent from the Technical University – Sofia and its affiliate in Plovdiv, which are renowned for their academic achievements, creative thinking and ambition to change the world for the better through technology and technical solutions.

The ABB Jürgen Dormann Foundation was established with a clear mission – to support engineering students from around the world who demonstrate high academic performance and development potential but need financial support to continue their education.

Scholarships are available for a maximum period of five years and are awarded based on three key criteria:

  • Personal qualities;
  • Academic success;
  • Potential for professional growth.

The selection process is the result of cooperation between the foundation and the university partners, which guarantees that the support will be delivered to the most promising and worthy candidates.

Today, the program encompasses universities in Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Malaysia, Poland, Turkey, Vietnam and Indonesia, and Bulgaria is a proud partner in this international network of knowledge, ambitions and innovations.

For the scholarship recipients, participation in this program means not only financial support, but also the opportunity to be part of the global ABB community, which for more than a century has been a symbol of technological progress and sustainable development.

"We are proud to be able to support young people who not only study engineering, but also experience it with curiosity, perseverance, and a desire to leave a mark," shared the ABB Bulgaria team.
