The plant in Roman, previously known as ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Roman, specializes in the production of large-diameter seamless steel pipes, used primarily in the energy, construction, and mechanical engineering sectors. With this acquisition, Interpipe increases its production capacity while simultaneously optimizing its logistics chains to markets in Central and Western Europe, thereby circumventing some of the trade restrictions affecting imports from non-EU countries.

Interpipe’s management announced plans for a large-scale investment program to modernize the facilities in Roman. The goal is to improve the energy efficiency of production and expand the product portfolio to meet the EU’s highest environmental standards. The integration of the plant into the new owner’s structure is expected to ensure job stability and open up new opportunities for the export of Romanian industrial products.
