Germany’s WIK Group has opened a new electrical appliance plant in the Technology and Industrial Development Zone in Prilep, North Macedonia. The investment exceeds 16 million euros and will create 300 jobs, BalkanEngineer.com learned from SeeNews. For WIK, the new facility marks the next phase of its presence in the country, which began with the construction of its first facility in Prilep in 2017. Production began a year later, and North Macedonia became the group’s third production site after China and Indonesia. Today, the local company has approximately 520 employees.

This expansion of operations comes amid a clear export focus for WIK Macedonia. In 2025, the company recorded exports totaling 38 million euros, while the value of imported goods was 30.8 million euros. The addition of new capacity and the planned expansion of the team signal a significantly larger scale of operations in Prilep compared to the current level.

WIK Group operates in the field of electrical appliance development and manufacturing, handling processes ranging from product and engineering design and prototyping to industrialization and mass production. Its production network includes Prilep, Shenzhen in China, and Batam in Indonesia, while other group entities are located in Germany, Switzerland, and Hong Kong.
