The Chinese tire manufacturer Linglong plans to invest 590.7 million euro in expanding its factory in the city of Zrenjanin in Northern Serbia, BalkanEngineer.com learned from SEENews.com. The company aims to increase its annual capacity by 1.1 million sets of radial tires in response to the growing demand in Europe.
Linglong’s facility in Serbia was inaugurated with the production of truck tires in 2023, and in early 2024 started the production of vehicle tires as well. The new project envisages the construction of a total area of 87 903 m2 and will include the building of a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 24 MW. The construction activities are expected to begin in January 2025 and to be completed by the end of December 2030.
Linglong will invest 174.9 million euro of its own funds in the project, and the rest of the financing will be from bank loans. As a result of the expansion, the company expects an average annual net profit of 111.4 million euro.
Linglong operates in Serbia through the subsidiary firm Linglong International Europe. In addition to the facility in the Balkan country, the company has production sites in Thailand and China.
