Problems with the companies implementing the new highway Gradsko-Prilep in North Macedonia have been overcome and with the beginning of the upcoming construction season its construction will start at an accelerated pace, BalkanEngineer.com  learned from the news agency Meta.mk, which cites the Minister of Transport and Communications of the country Blagoy Bochvarski.

The construction of the first section between Gradsko and Drenovo will be taken over by a new company, which has the technical and human resources to complete the construction on time, Bochvarski announced. Construction of the 16-kilometer route started in the summer of 2018, and currently about a third of the total construction work on it has been completed.

Bochvarski also pointed out that the tender procedure for the second section - from the village of Drenovo to the village of Farish, includes a bid in each phase of evaluation. The third stage of the construction project includes reconstruction of the entire road to the village of Pletvar and the extension of the next two-lane road to a three-lane highway.

The expressway between Gradsko and Prilep is located on branch D of the Pan-European transport corridor 10. The branch starts from the river Vardar near Gradsko, passes through the cities of Prilep, Bitola and Florina and reaches the port of Igoumenitsa, Greece.
