Continental plans about 150 million euro in investments for Romania

The German developer of automotive components Continental had invested 150 million euro in its Romanian division in 2021, and plans to allocate a similar amount in 2022, BalkanEngineer learned from Seenews.com. At the end of 2021, the company employs over 17 500 specialists in the country.

 

 

Continental intends to invest the sum in the expansion of its buildings, as well as in new equipment for its engineering centers in the country in 2022. The company is also planning projects for its factories for tires and electronic components and the so-called ContiTech division for the production of automotive parts mainly from rubber and aluminum.

 

From 1999 to 2021, Continental has invested more than 2 billion euro in Romania, where the company has six production units and four engineering centers – in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Nadab, Brasov and Iasi. The manufacturer also owns a tire distribution center in the capital Bucharest.
