Leading Bulgarian producer and distributor of organic products Smart Organic has officially begun construction of its second production facility in the Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Park, BalkanEngineer.com learned from a press release issued by the Bulgarian company. The project is part of Smart Organic’s ambitious long-term strategy to expand production capacity, introduce new product lines, and meet the growing global demand for healthy and organic foods.

The new production and logistics complex will be built adjacent to the company’s first factory in the area and will include modern high-tech production halls, warehouse space, and administrative offices. The facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art, highly automated production lines for packaging raw materials and manufacturing organic bars, savory snacks, and baked goods. With the implementation of the new facilities, the company aims to optimize its operational processes, reduce its carbon footprint through the implementation of energy-efficient systems, and increase its competitiveness in international markets.
The investment in Bozhurishte is driven by a lack of available capacity at Smart Organic’s current facilities, as the company exports the majority of its production to over 60 countries worldwide, including Western Europe and North America. The new project is expected to double the company’s production capacity and create new jobs for skilled workers in the region, reinforcing Bulgaria’s position as a proven producer in the sector for Southeast Europe.
