With a presence in over 90 countries, Ficosota no longer operates as just a regional producer, but has transformed into a global market leader. The financial results for 2024 confirm this growth, and even more noticeable is the investment profile of the company – over 10% of the yearly turnover is aimed towards automation and robotization. Under these positive indicators, however, is a systemic style of engineering, implemented within the framework of the long-term partnership with the company Multiengineering.

In 2024, 44% of the machines put into operation at Ficosota Food are aimed at renewing the production systems in the enterprise. The implementation of this large-scale modernization is not only a matter of supplying equipment.

"Multiengineering's role covers the entire life cycle of manufacturing products - from primary process analysis, through design and configuration of automated systems, to full integration into the existing infrastructure and subsequent support," the leading manufacturing and engineering company Multiengineering informed BalkanEngineer.com.

At the completion of the project, two additional automatic productions lines, equipped with robotized systems for cartoning and integrated to a central palletizer. The key engineering here is not in the individual machines, but in the synchronization of the entire production flow. Multiengineering is involved in the design and integration of these systems, which include:

  • Double production capacity;
  • High repeatability of processes and stable quality;
  • Reduced dependence on manual labor;
  • Possibility of gradual upgrade without stopping production.

Integrated automation solutions have a direct impact on sustainability. Ficosota integrates systems for measuring energy consumption at the production lines, maintains equipment and lighting, uses waste heat, develops photovoltaic capacities and solar parks with storage batteries. Already 8% of the energy in the factory is covered by its own photovoltaics.
