During production of common household appliances, such as coffee grinders, the success of production is determined by a series of conditions. Only clearly structured, effective and oriented processes lead to the necessary level of production. "Achieving such a goal becomes significantly more efficient through automation, as proven by the example of the Swiss company Eugster/Frismag AG after the implementation of 14 FANUC LR Mate industrial robots and the FANUC ZDT (Zero Down Time) system. This solution has allowed the company to continuously automate the assembly of one coffee grinder module every 7 seconds," FANUC Bulgaria told BalkanEngineer.com.

The factory at Romanshorn is the main center of production of coffee grinders for the whole group. Due to the high-quality requirements by clients, the company invests in solutions for automation as well as construction, including logistics surrounding the production line with the goal of reducing dependency on manual labor, without increasing the time for completing one production cycle. In cooperation with Roth Technik – years long system integrator of FANUC - 14 FANUC LR Mate 200????D/7L robots have been implemented for assembly operations, as well as a FANUC M-20????D/25 robot for unloading and transporting the modules.

"As a result of automation, only one operator was now needed to monitor the entire assembly process, which significantly reduced the need for human resources. Additionally, the ZDT system reduces unplanned downtime, optimizes resource utilization, and extends the service life of the equipment," commented FANUC Bulgaria.

Upon integrating the roboticized system, the 14 robots LR Mate 200????D/7L by FANUC completely construct the electromechanical module of a coffee grinder in less than 8 seconds, which significantly increases efficiency and production capacity.
