American giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) is consolidating its position in Romania with a new investment in its plant in Urlati, Prahova County, BalkanEnginer.com has learned from a publication on RomaniaInsider.com. The company announced a capital increase of 90 million lei, equivalent to approximately 18.3 million euros, for its local subsidiary Detergenti SA. The funds will be used to expand production capacity and prepare for new product lines intended primarily for export.

The Urlati factory is one of P&G's main production centers in the region. Opened in 2010 with an investment of over 100 million dollars, it has become an industrial center for the production of shampoos, conditioners, and household products. Today, the facility covers 25 hectares, of which about 6 are occupied by production facilities.
The company already has nearly 500 employees in Romania, with the local team playing an important role in P&G's operations in Southeast Europe. According to company data, nearly 90% of the production in Urlati is destined for export to nearby markets such as Turkey and the Balkan countries.
With this new investment, Procter & Gamble is further strengthening its presence in the Romanian economy, and local authorities expect the project to create new jobs and boost economic activity in the region.
