Amazon Games has officially opened a new game development studio in Bucharest, marking a significant expansion of the company's global footprint, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Romania-insider.com. The new studio will be led by Cristian Pana, former managing director of Ubisoft Bucharest.

The new studio in Bucharest will join existing Amazon Games development teams located in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego and Seattle. The strategic move to Europe is in line with the company's ambitious plans to expand its portfolio and tap into the region's burgeoning game development talent.
“Expanding our in-house development teams in Europe was a natural next step for us. Bucharest is known as one of the fastest growing European cities in the industry and we look forward to tapping into the rich pool of talent," said Christoph Hartmann, Vice President of Amazon Games.
Amazon Games' portfolio includes live-action games such as "New World" and "Lost Ark," along with announced projects based on popular franchises such as "Tomb Raider" and "The Lord of the Rings," as well as the anticipated "Throne and Liberty In addition, ongoing projects from studios in San Diego and Montreal and UK independent studio Glowmade are part of the company's diverse lineup.
The Bucharest studio is actively recruiting for key positions, including software developers, artists, designers and animators, as it prepares to contribute to Amazon Games' growing list of high-profile projects.
