China's Shanghai Unison Aluminium Products Co. has announced an investment of around 35 million euros to build an automotive parts manufacturing plant in the Thrace Economic Zone on the territory of Maritsa Municipality, Radinovo village, Bulgaria, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Forbesbulgaria.com. The news about the project was confirmed by the executive director of the "Thrace Economic Zone Cluster" Katya Staykova.
The construction of the new plant will be carried out by the Bulgarian company Syenit, and the process should start by the end of April this year. The plant will cover 11,000 m2 and is expected to create between 150 and 200 new jobs. The production plant will develop, design and manufacture aluminium profiles with a wide range of applications in the automotive industry.
Shanghai Unison's investment programme includes the construction of an automated production building, a canteen, two floors of utility rooms and an outdoor car park. The site for the plant has already been acquired and is expected to be ready for operation as early as next year.
A further 10,000 m2 is to be built at a later stage of the project and, if the venture is successful, the investor plans further investments elsewhere in Bulgaria.
