Bulgarian startup URBIX Hub was awarded a winner in this year's edition of the EIT Jumpstarter - an early-stage support program for startups organised by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, BalkanEnginner.com learned from Economy.bg. The programme aims to turn innovative ideas into successful businesses.
URBIX Hub is the first European driving simulation network to provide on-demand, affordable training for mobility businesses. The solution helps reduce operational costs associated with crashes, improves driver safety and minimises disruption to fleets through realistic simulations tailored to companies' needs.
The EIT Jumpstarter final took place on 28 November in Budapest, Hungary, where URBIX Hub distinguished itself among 49 teams from 21 countries competing in 9 categories. A total of 24 start-ups were awarded cash prizes totalling 150 000 euros.
The next edition of the programme will be launched in January and pre-registration is now open. In 2025, the programme foresees new prizes for startups from the Mediterranean region and the outermost regions of the European Union, as well as additional support for talent from the Western Balkans and Ukraine.
Since its inception in 2017, EIT Jumpstarter has trained 1 180 talents, led to the creation of 124 startups and contributed to 2 100 new jobs. These companies have attracted a total of 150 million euros in external investment.
