The world-famous Shell brand is entering the Albanian fuel market in partnership with local leader Kastrati Group. This follows the signing of an agreement between Shell's Greek licensee, Coral, and the Albanian conglomerate. BalkanEngineer.com has learned from an official Coral announcement on LinkedIn that the first Shell-branded service stations in Albania will open by the end of 2025.
The agreement provides for rebranding Kastrati's existing service stations into Shell outlets. Kastrati's network, which currently includes 85 stations across the country, will be transformed to offer Albanian drivers access to high-quality fuels and services. The new stations are also expected to offer premium fuels such as Shell V-Power, which uses 99% of the same ingredients found in Scuderia Ferrari racing fuel.
"Shell's entry into Albania is an important step for both the local market and the company's regional strategy. Albanian customers will have the opportunity to benefit from our premium products and amenities that are globally proven," Coral said.
Coral is already an established leader in the fuel market in Greece, where it operates 750 Shell stations and holds a 22% market share. The company also has 29 sites in Cyprus. The partnership with Kastrati Group will allow Coral to consolidate its position in South East Europe.
Albania will benefit from Shell's global expertise and high standards. The new filling stations will not only offer fuel but also convenient services for drivers that are standard for the brand internationally. "This is a big step for the development of the Albanian fuel market. Shell will bring innovation and quality services that will contribute to better service and greater customer satisfaction," said Kastrati Group.
Shell's entry into Albania is also expected to stimulate competition, leading to higher standards in the sector in the country.
