In July this year, Danish wind, solar and hybrid project developer and operator Eurowind Energy began construction of the 48 MW Pecineaga wind farm in Romania, which is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2025, BalkanEngieer.com has learned from Romaniajournal.com. The investment is worth 79 million euros.
In July 2023, Eurowind Energy will start work on the infrastructure and facilities of the Pecineaga wind farm. The wind turbines to be installed later will be the largest ever in Romania and will be supplied by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
The park is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2025 and will generate 176,000 MWh/year, with the capacity to supply up to 48,000 households annually. Once construction is complete, Eurowind Energy will retain ownership of the wind farm.
The Pecineaga wind farm will complete the series of renewable energy projects developed by Eurowind Energy in Romania, including the photovoltaic parks in Halchiu, Măgurele (both built in 2013) and Pufești (built in 2012). In addition, in October this year, the company will start the construction of an agri-voltaic park in Teiuș (Teiuș), developed on an 80 ha plot, which will become operational in 2024.
