A new technology centre against cyber attacks has opened in the Albanian capital Tirana, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Albaniadailynews.com. The centre is able to carry out ongoing operations to detect, mitigate and respond against cyber attacks thanks to a critical IT security infrastructure.
The technologies in the new facility are deployed by IBM Security QRadar Suite.
In July 2022. Albania faced a series of cyberattacks that rendered government websites and services inaccessible through disruptive malware.
The centre received an $8.4 million (€7.67 million) investment from the US, and the project is part of a wider $50 million programme to support Albania's cyber security, the US embassy in the country revealed.
