Sofia Airport (Bulgaria) concessionaire Sof Connect has announced an order for 22 electric vehicle charging stations, BalkanEngineer has learned from Economic.bg. They will be added to the 4 sites already installed in the airport area. The value of the investment is not specified.
Three more EV charging points will soon be added, including in the VIP parking area of the smaller Terminal 1 at Sofia Airport. 16 new AC charging stations with a capacity of 22 kW and 6 DC charging stations with a capacity of 180 kW have been ordered.
As part of its commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality by 2036, Sofia Airport is embarking on this transformational 'journey' towards an all-electric fleet. The airport has begun work on the supply of power for the planned installation of electric vehicle charging points in December 2022.
Sof Connect announced a week ago that it would invest £150m by the end of 2025 in various projects, including a photovoltaic park to meet the airport's energy needs.
