Serbia's autonomous province of Vojvodina has announced that it has signed a deal to build a wastewater treatment plant in the northern town of Vrdnik, BalkanEngnieer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. The project is worth 850 million dinars (7.3 million euros).
According to Igor Moronik, head of the local government, this is a very important investment for the province because it will contribute to the protection of water and the environment in the area, as well as to the development of the economy and the improvement of tourism services in this region.
The President of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, also commented that the municipality of Irig, which is part of the province of Vojvodina, has a great potential in wine and spa tourism, with the possibility of expansion in the coming years, and the construction of the Fruskogor Corridor road will contribute to this.
The €606 million Frushkogor Corridor road project, which is an upgrade of the Novi Sad-Rouma section of Serbia's IB-21 state road, will be implemented by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
