The Serbian electric power company Solarbelt plans to build two photovoltaic plants, each with a capacity of 9 MW, in the southern city of Vranje, BalkanEngineer.com learned from SEENews.com. The construction works are expected to start in the beginning of 2025.
The Municipality of Vranje has signed a 30-year contract for leasing public land with an area of 20.6 ha with Solarbelt, on which the photovoltaic facilities will be constructed. Thus, the company will have four plots of land for which it will pay an overall monthly rent amounting to 3743 euro.
The company Solarbelt, owned by Tamas, was founded in 2021 and is based in Belgrade. According to the firm’s executive director, the future photovoltaic park in Vranje will be the largest one in Serbia.
