JSC Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) and the company Vetrozelena have signed an agreement for the purchase of electricity and the assumption of balance sheet liability, as well as a market premium agreement, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Ekarija.com.
The agreements were signed by Dušan Živković, CEO of EPS, and Citao Gao and Maja Turković, directors of Vetrozelena. These are the first agreements based on tenders conducted by the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia, which will secure a larger amount of green energy produced for supply to the local market.
Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic was also present at the signing of the contracts. On this occasion, she pointed out that the Vetrozelena wind farm is the first of nine renewable energy plants in the premium system on the Serbian market and the largest plant for which incentives have been granted, as it will produce electricity for about 180,000 citizens, at a price of about 64 euros per megawatt hour.
According to the minister, the agreements signed can be an example for other projects, because all the energy produced will be used to supply the population's domestic needs and not for export.
