Serbia and France signed 12 agreements during an official visit of the French President Emmanuel Macron to the capital Belgrade, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Balkangreenenergynews.com. Five of them are related to the extraction of critical raw materials, such as lithium, as well as energy and environmental protection.

The two countries agreed to cooperate in the field of nuclear energy with a loan agreement for the power grid. Serbia and France also signed declarations to establish partnership and cooperation for the exploration and extraction of critical and strategic mineral resources. The documents were signed by the Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović, and the interdepartmental delegate of France.

The two countries also agreed to cooperate in the field of waste management. The Serbian government and the two French companies SUEZ International SAS and Vinci Construction Grands Projects SA signed an agreement for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant in Veliko Selo, a suburb of Belgrade.

Last but not least, a tripartite agreement for partnership was signed between the Serbian Ministry of environmental protection, the France’s development agency AFD and the Paris regional waste management center.
