Serbia expects carmaker Stellantis (STLAM.MI) to produce the new FIAT Panda electric city cars in one of Serbia's largest cities - Kragujevac, BalkanEnigeer.com has learned from Cionews.co.in.
Stellantis, formed from the merger of France's PSA and FIAT Chrysler in 2021, and the Serbian government signed a 190 million euro deal in 2022 to produce electric vehicles at the Kragujevac plant, which previously produced the FIAT 500L model.
The current generation of the electric FIAT Panda is being built near Naples, Italy, and the next model will be introduced in mid-2024. If the two countries' intentions come to fruition, bilateral trade between Italy and Serbia will increase significantly, exceeding the current €4.6 billion per year.
