Schneider Electric has signed a contract to supply medium voltage equipment and control software for the upgrade of Serbia's electricity distribution network. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from Ekapija.com.
Schneider Electric said the company's technical solutions will help improve Serbia's medium-voltage power distribution network. The €140 million project will improve the reliability of the grid by reducing faults and the duration of power outages. This will reduce losses in the network and allow a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, resulting in further savings.
Last but not least, the country-wide grid modernisation project will improve the quality of electricity supply and thus enhance the quality of service provided by the distribution system operator Elektrodistribucija Srbije (EDS).
