The leading electricity company in Romania, Hidroelectrica, had announced a tender for the rehabilitation of the equipment at the Brădișor HPP worth 106 million euro, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Economica.net. The interested companies can submit their offers until 1st October of this year.
The Brădișor hydroelectric plant has a design installed capacity of 100 MW in two turbines and has been in operation since 1982. In addition to rehabilitating the hydro units, which will have to operate for another 30 years, Hidroelectrica also aims to increase the facility’s capacity to 115 MW. The project also requires the installation of an automated system for managing the entire process of electricity production and system services remotely.
Hidroelectrica had already published a tender for the modernization of the equipment at the Brădișor HPP worth 75.4 million euro back in November 2023. However, the procedure was officially terminated at the beginning of this year due to the lack of submitted offers.
