Romania consolidates its presence in Bulgaria with the opening of a consulate in Plovdiv and the appointment of Dr. Eng. Dimitar Beleliev, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from the Central Energy Repair Base EAD. According to the decision of the Council of Ministers, the consulate will serve the Bulgarian districts of Plovdiv, Lovech, Gabrovo, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Smolyan, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil.
The opening of the consulate in Plovdiv is a step towards strengthening the close relations between Romania and Bulgaria, as well as towards a more active development of the areas it will serve. Dr. Eng. Dimitar Beleliev, with nearly 30 years of experience in the energy sector, assumes the role of Honorary Consul with a clear commitment to the development of commercial, economic and educational relations between Bulgaria and Romania. He expresses his conviction that these efforts will contribute to the interpenetration of business and culture in order to improve the future of both countries.
Dr. Beleliev is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Central Energy Repair Base EAD, one of the largest Bulgarian large power maintenance companies in the energy sector, and of Contact Elements AD. He also holds positions in organizations such as the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (CREIB), the Association for Bulgarian-Ukrainian Friendship and Cooperation, and the Bulgarian Electrical and Electronics Association.
In 2020, Dr. Beleliev founded AmonRa Energy JSC, already an established center for products and solutions in the field of solar energy on the Balkan Peninsula. The company became the first photovoltaic company listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, BEAM segment.
Engineer Beleliev holds a Master's degree in Economics with a specialization in Energy Business and a PhD with the topic "Energy Security Assessment of Bulgaria". He is the author of a number of publications related to energy security, which highlights his expertise in the field.
