The exact value of the transaction has not been announced, but it is pending approval by the Serbian antimonopoly regulator.

According to the plan, Sopharma will acquire 25% of the Serbian company this year, and another 50% next year. After two years, the takeover of the remaining 25% of the Serbian producer is also planned.

Pharmanova distributes its products in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia. In the past year, the company registered net revenues from sales in the amount of 10.2 million euros.

Sopharma already has experience in the Serbian market, having entered it in 2015, and two years later acquired a majority stake in the fastest growing pharmaceutical distributor in Serbia - Lekovit d.o.o. The company later completed the full acquisition of the Serbian company.

Last month, Sopharma announced its intentions for a new expansion in Serbia and authorized its representatives to explore market growth opportunities.
