Luxembourg-based nanotechnology firm OCSiAl has announced the upcoming opening of a new carbon nanotube* synthesis facility and research center in Stara Pazova, Serbia. This information BalkanEnigeer.com learned from SeeNews.com.

The new facility follows the completion of the single-wall carbon nanotube dispersion factory in Stara Pazova in June this year. OCSiAl also plans to start commercial production from this factory in the third quarter of the year.

The new nanotube synthesis plant is expected to reach its full annual capacity of 120 t between 2024 and 2025. Along with nanotubes, the facility will produce nanotube slurries intended for lithium-ion battery manufacturers in Europe, the US and Asia .

As a leading manufacturer, OCSiAl employs over 200 people worldwide. The company expanded into Serbia in 2022, operating through its subsidiary OCSiAl Balkan.

*Carbon nanotubes are distinguished by their exceptional strength, thermal and electrical properties and have a strong influence on the development of materials science, electronics and nanotechnology.
