The Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones (TIDZ) of North Macedonia has launched a tender for the award of a €120 million public-private partnership (PPP) contract that includes the design, construction, financing and operation of a technological industrial development zone in Gevgelija. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from SeeNews.com.
The contract concerns the implementation of the first phase of the project, which includes the construction of facilities on a 50.25 ha plot, TIRZ said in the public call published in mid-February this year. Candidate contractors can submit documents until March 11.
In the second phase, the industrial zone is to be expanded by an additional 70 ha, but this will depend on the success of the first phase.
The TIRZ is the governmental governing body responsible for the development of free economic zones in North Macedonia. The institution currently manages 14 free economic zones across the country.
