The proposals of the five architectural studios that were finalists in the international competition for the construction of a Conference, Fairs and Exhibitions Centre in the city were presented in the Albanian capital, Tirana, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from BTA.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Velijay, pointed out that the creation of this centre will start a new era of transformation of the city, aimed at the "New Boulevard". "The 'New Boulevard' gives us an opportunity to understand how much Tirana has grown in 100 years and how necessary this was," he said.
The aim now is to balance Tirana in a northerly direction, so that the city has two centres - Skenderbeg Square and the New Boulevard in its role as the modern vision of the capital.
Speaking about the proposals of the five architectural studios that were finalists in the international competition for the construction of the Conference, Fair and Exhibition Centre on the New Boulevard, the Mayor of Tirana stressed that the buildings of other institutions - the Supreme Court, the Museum of Modern Art, as well as the new administrative building of the municipality - will be located in the same area.
