Mondelēz International, a world leader in the production of chocolate products, has announced ambitious plans for a US$ 40 million investment in the expansion of its factory in Svoge, Bulgaria. This is what BalkanEngineer.com learned from Capital.bg. The project involves the introduction of a completely new high-tech line for the molding of chocolate tablets, which is scheduled to be completed within the next two years.
The Svoge factory, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2024, plays a key role in Mondelēz's global network. In 2023, it produced 34,000 t of various chocolate products, registering a 15% increase compared to the previous year. With the new investment, the location will also establish itself as a pilot development and innovation center for Mondelēz, where new products and technologies will be developed and tested before their global rollout.
The Mondelēz factory in Bulgaria produces a number of complex products, such as Milka Peanut Caramel chocolate, which are destined for 27 countries around the world.
