Over the past 7 years, the Bulgarian company Minstroi Holding has created jobs for 1,500 people in North Macedonia and successfully revived two ore mines. This is what BalkanEngineer.com learned from 24chasa.bg.
Through its subsidiary in North Macedonia, Bulmac 2016, Minstroi Holding is among the largest investors in the region. The two mines under its management employ a total of 850 miners from Kriva Palanka and Probishtip, and the total number of employees, including in the production logistics companies, reaches around 1,500.
In 2016, Minstroi Holding acquired the concession for the two mines, which at the time were bankrupt, without workers and equipment, and today, the company is planning major expansions, such as the expansion of the tailings storage facility at one mine, which will provide mining capacity for the next 20 years.
Thanks to investments in new technologies, Minstroi Holding has recently been recognised by the Government of North Macedonia as a socially responsible partner, helping to develop communities and environmentally friendly ore extraction.
For Miner's Day, the Bulgarian company organized a celebration in Kriva Palanka, where public and business figures attended and representatives of Minstroi Holding expressed their pride in the results achieved and their commitment to continue investing and improving working conditions.
